Ariana: 7 Months Old

So, when I re-started writing this blog, my very first monthly post with Ky was his 7-month post. We've come full circle. I still kick myself for not REALLY documenting his first 6 months of life, but I love that I can now look back and see what he was up to and how he differs or is similar to his sissy!

Weight: 16ish lbs.

Hair: Growing, growing, growing. If you look at the difference between her 5mo and 7mo pics, it's insane. She has little "ear flaps" and I can even tuck big chunks behind her ears!

Eyes: Still a caramel brown, much lighter than her bro. Still sparkly which I love :)

Diapers: Welllllll, she should be (and usually is) in size 3's, but buying two kinds of diapers has been annoying lately (Ky is in 4s), so poor second baby has been wearing 4s a lot, too... whoops.

Clothes: No more 3 month stuff fits her (wah!), mostly in 6mo pants, maybe a few 3 - 6mo things... all 6 - 9 sleepers and 6 - 9 or 6 - 12 month tops which are usually huge on her, but thats how Old Navy and Gap make 'em and I love their clothes too much to care.

Eating: Still doing 4 bottles a day (6-8oz) and we moved on to feeding her solids twice a day now! Fruit and oatmeal in the morning (after her first morning bottle), and then a veggie with rice in the evening with us, around 6/6:30. So far she has LOVED everything we've given her: sweet potatoes, carrots, butternut squash, apples, pears.... she loves food! And while she eats she just smiles and goes, "mmmmm.... mmmm...." it's the sweetest thing.

Sleeping: Sleeping much better since her last post, which I'm assuming was teeth-related. Occasionally she will still stir, wake up for a minute in the night (usually around like midnight), but we put her paci back in and she goes right back to sleep.

Milestones: Seven months was huge for Ariana. HUGE!

Her first two bottom teeth popped through about a week or so after Thanksgiving. She's about a month and a half before Ky on that one! She was actually really good about the teething... Ky was MISERABLE for months, so I'm glad it didn't bother her as much... we had a few rough nights but nothing terrible. She still won't really let me see them because whenever I try to pull her bottom lip down, she just sticks out her tongue, lol.

As if that wasn't enough big girl status, she took her first crawls on Christmas Day. I knew it was coming because she'd been flipping over and "rocking" for a while, and Hubs and I had a bet because I said she'd be crawling by Christmas, and so I guess we both kind of won. (Or lost... depending on how you look at it, ha!)

Now, she's steadily moving... 3 or 4 "crawls" at a time. Within a week she's going to be rocketing around the house, I just know it. She also pushes herself up to sit now! She will flip over on her tummy, tuck one leg under the other and sit upright and then laugh. She LOVES this. Every morning we go to get her in her crib now, she's just sitting up, cooing away, like it's NBD. What a big girl.

Her demeanor has completely changed in the last 3 - 4 months. The first couple months of her life, I thought I was going to rip my eyelashes out since she was always so fussy/irritable and never wanted to be put down, didn't sleep well at ALL, etc... but, honestly I think once she started sleeping through the night and was eating more, she became a totally new baby! She is just such a joy now. She's always happy and laughing. She still LOVES being held (much more than Ky did, haha)... she's a total people person. Literally the only thing in the world she wants is to snuggle. If you just hold her and smoosh and kiss and squish her face, she lights up. It's the cutest thing. She LOVES me, too... I know that's silly to say, but she really does. Ky was never as enamored when I walked in a room. She just completely glows when she sees me, is always reaching for me, and when I'm holding her, she's always clutching my hair or my shirt or has a hand on my face. My little baby doll :)

Here are her 7-mo pics!

And HOW FUNNY is this comparison shot?! Not only could they totally pass for fraternal twins, but they are both sitting the exact same way AND holding their wittle foot!! Adorbs, right?!

Stay tuned for lots coming up this week!! A 2012 Year-in-Review tomorrow, and then our Christmas re-cap!! Happy New Year, Friends!! xo

She is adorbs! I always forget that Ariana and Sadie are about a month apart until we both post their month updates around the same time.

I love reading this since her and Carson are so close in age! I just posted his 7 month update today (late). It's CRAZY how much she looks like her big bro!
